As a conscientious and socially responsible manufacturer, we take our environmental obligations extremely seriously.
Lee & Plumpton is certified for FSC® Chain of Custody under certificate number TT-COC-003072 and we are also a member of FISP, the Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme.
Our Environmental Management System is certified to BS EN ISO 14001:2015 (EMS515183). This is an International Management Standard and our certification reaffirms our commitment to meet our legal and regulatory responsibilities. We were recertified in September 2019 following a rigorous independent audit that reported a zero incidence rate of non-conformities.
We’re extremely proud to say that we send zero waste to landfill and we recycle tonnes of sawdust from our factory each year. We’re always exploring new ways to enhance our environmental performance. We’ve installed solar panels on our factory roof and energy efficient lighting in our production departments. We have also introduced an eco-gate system to monitor and optimise our extraction systems.
Reducing our carbon emissions is an integral part of our sustainability programme. Some of the ways we achieve this are the collection and recycling of empty pallets and return loads, including the collection of customer returns or raw materials from our suppliers.
All of these initiatives are part of our ongoing pledge to work towards a more sustainable and greener future.
